You can start playing AC with just an Arena Commander, but you’ll need the Aurora MR-AC Starter package for a full experience.

Consider a game package from either the Aurora-MR-AC-Starter or Mustang-Alpha-AC-Starter links. If you aim for the lowest cost, I recommend the MR version and then upgrade to the LN.

Pick the top option first, then move up to the next choice. I won't exceed £40 on any one game.

You’re accumulating multiple games but consider purchasing a starter pack and adding each item to your cart at the links provided:
- Mustang Alpha to Aurora MR Upgrade
- Aurora MR to Mustang Alpha Upgrade

This lets you test both options and switch back and forth. For the LN upgrade, if you opt for it, expect higher costs due to added VAT and the fact that the initial price was lower before changes.

When costs drop, I’ll definitely take advantage of it.

REC (rental credits) should be available tomorrow, which might mean sticking with what you currently have. Please note you may need an additional pass for early access to the FPS module—we’ll determine this in a month. I’ll reach out in a few weeks and keep you updated.

Consider pausing before making any purchase.

It isn't mentioned often enough so consider that the experience you get is just a preview of what's coming. It highlights some of the features that will launch, while most of the final product's capabilities—like multi-crew ships, first-person combat, trading systems, missions, and single-player stories—won’t be available yet. Arena Commander serves as a testing ground for new ideas before they’re fully implemented. Right now you’re exploring your fleet in the hangar, seeing what you own and playing solo or against AI. A first-person shooter module is planned soon. The main goal isn’t to buy a finished game; it’s to support an incomplete project and get early access as a tester. Each update brings more bugs, so it’s up to you to report them while enjoying the gameplay. I understand some might feel discouraged if they expect a polished product right away, but many end up disappointed because of unrealistic hopes.

Keep an eye on the end of the week for 1.1's release. That will let you test your base ship and earn game rental credits to buy weapons and vessels for a week. Which do you prefer—FPS or dogfighting?

They really catch my attention, honestly. I’ve always loved FPS games, but I’ve taken it a bit too far myself, so I’m more eager to dive into new experiences or dogfight scenarios.
