I haven't ever overclocked cpus before, but I'm preparing to do so with my current one. It's an i5 6500 and an ASUS Z170-E board.

If your motherboard supports it.

There are only a few left on the market that allow for overclocking non K chips and I'm not sure if the one you have allows it or not. If it does it will probably require a specific BIOS version.
Edit: Looks like there is a compatible BIOS listed on that page. You need to be comfortable with flashing your BIOS and all the risks that are inherent with that before you can even think about an overclock though.

There are only a few left in the market that enable overclocking for non-K chips, and I'm not certain if yours does. If it does, it likely needs a particular BIOS version. I looked on the website and both my CPU and motherboard are listed there.

I also made changes to your previous post. You'll need the matching BIOS.
