How do I make my PDF pages line up nicely?
How do I make my PDF pages line up nicely?
Hi, I'm new here so please let me know if you've seen this before but I have been wasting a lot of time trying to find a solution. I get lots of PDFs at work with thousands of pages for each job. The pages in the file usually aren't in order, but I need to make sure they are sorted into different sections and saved as separate files. I need a program that can let me either create several folders where I can drag and drop every page inside them and then save those folders as its own file, or it can let me label each page so I can grab all pages with a specific tag and save them to their own file. So far, the only thing I've found is the Organize tool in Acrobat Pro, but scrolling through the same file over and over just to highlight pages takes way too long, and manually writing down page numbers then figuring out which ones are what and saving and combining them all takes ages too. Both of these options take way too much time so any advice anyone has would be super appreciated.
There are many ways to handle files. What rules decide which ones get sorted? What is that special name for the group? How do we pick the right folders? = = = = But this question sounds like school work, and I can't help you with that. I don't know what's really going on here. You might need to look around a bit yourself. Figure out your own choices and write down why. Tell me more about it. Show some examples. Post the answer properly.
The reason for seeing Page 1, Page 2, and so on is usually just because you are looking at separate sheets of paper. These labels help you find the right spot in your file without guessing which number goes where.
Hey, thanks for getting back to me. It's not school or college homework; it's work I do from home. I'm a nurse who checks medical records, and so I need a program where I can keep things private. I get all of a client's medical records in one big PDF file. I want to sort them into clinical paperwork, nursing docs, meds list, results, and letters. The only way I've tried is to write down the page numbers for each part and then use print to save them. But it takes too long because there are so many clients. So I need a program where I can make folders for notes, nurse logs, medication lists, etc., and drag and drop each page into the right folder as I look through. It's like sorting real paper notes into piles or tagging pages with labels like clinical note, nursing note, prescription, and saving those tags in separate files. I haven't found any program that does this, so that's why I'm asking for something like that.
I'm feeling a bit stressed so I need to check all the rules and make sure everything is okay before moving forward. It sounds like the HIPAA laws in the US or maybe the NHS rules in the UK are what we're talking about, but honestly, I don't know what's happening elsewhere. What do you guys say about this when it comes to your job and the IT team?
If there isn't a clear label or ID on each page, you probably won't be able to get that info out. Page 1, Page 2, Page 3 are just numbers if you try scanning them with text tools like OCR (which sometimes works). You have to convert the PDF into another file format though. But I know things change when it comes to medical stuff. Also, what does your boss say? You can't be alone in this situation with all these problems.
There isn't a special code on each page; these are just pictures of paper records that the hospital trust's legal team sent to me. I am the only person with this problem because I hold the same role. I work at a small law firm and am the only nurse they have hired for me. My IT team tried to get a subscription to PDFArchitect, but it doesn't do what I need so I signed up for free trials just to see if there is a program that works like mine will create a subscription for me in the meantime to find the page numbers I need, I typed them out manually. This takes too long and makes mistakes happen often when dealing with thousands of pages. The content inside those files isn't even related to my question. They are legally obtained records that were sent and kept secretly. The real issue was a program (I'm using Acrobat Pro right now but it also doesn't work) that I could open the file with and break it down into categories I decided on, faster and more reliably than how I am doing things today. But since you said it's not possible, I'll keep going with what I have. Thank you for your replies.
If you don't have an ID, it's harder than ever to separate one page from another without doing this right now. It doesn't matter what the text says. Except for a few scanners that read things automatically, there isn't anything else that works like that.
Strange, I just signed up for this site because I was looking for something similar to mine and was about to start a new thread until I saw this one here. But my post is about different types of literature, so it's going to take the long way around instead. Also, I had to quote that person because I thought they were being funny. It's funny how everyone focuses on their replies here, but no medical info was shared anyway, and both of you seem really mean from the start. This person might not know anything about computers at all, so maybe this opening could have been sent more politely instead.
