Right-clicking a file in a web browser should let you select "open with" and set Chrome as the preferred option.

Begin the process by pressing the start button. Type "default programs" into the search bar and press enter on the correct control panel option. Select Chrome from the list, then click on "make default" or whatever instruction it provides.
