I recently purchased Grand Theft Auto: 4 on Steam, installed it lightly on my machine, but it won’t start to the main menu. This is what appears as Steam Community:: Guide :: How to Play GTA IV in 2023.

GTA4 Complete Edition is now available out of the box. The link you provided offers a tutorial on downgrading the game, which isn't actually required. Including specifications and additional information would be helpful.

It's best to ensure the game files are intact. If unsure, start the game through the Rockstar games launcher instead.

Consider reinstalling the game since this hasn't occurred before for most users. Usually it functions properly. If issues persist, verify there are no overlooked launch settings or modifications applied to the executable.
