How do I connect to a network?
I just finished building my custom PC today and I'm at the Windows 11 setup screen. It is asking me to connect to a network so it can get the latest features and security updates. This part is causing problems because there are no networks listed, even though it offers an option for ethernet but I don't have one handy. The troubleshooting tips suggested using a wireless adapter. I bought the NETGEAR Nighthawk AXE3000 Wi-Fi USB Adapter to help me find nearby networks. However, I still don't understand how this thumb drive and adapter are supposed to let my PC connect without knowing where to look or what they do exactly. Please somebody help me because I want to get access to my new PC as soon as possible.
I tried putting the thumb drive into the PC, but nothing happened. The screen just stayed the same and showed no networks. Yes, it does have drivers too. Also, I am pretty sure this is very important, but my motherboard has a label that says "M.2 Wi-Fi" right next to a port that looks like the one where I put my graphics card in.
The WiFi adapter and its thumb drive came with instructions? If they don't, here are the links: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/...QSG_EN.pdf https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/..._UM_EN.pdf Please follow what is written.
Yeah, it came with those in the drive too and even had paper copy inside the box. Also, I'm pretty sure this thing is important but when I looked at the label on my motherboard there was a note that said "M.2 Wi-Fi" right next to a port that looks just like where I put my graphics card.
