Does anyone know how to change my username on Windows 11? I heard it should be in Control Panel under User Accounts, but that specific setting is missing. Is there another way? I mean the name I see right after I log into my computer.

It's possible that on Windows 11, the login name is linked to your Microsoft account, so you have to switch it over there.

Do you have the power to change settings on this machine? If no, can someone else get it done? You'll need a friend or helper for this job.

You can change your username right now, even if you have an email address. Just press the key for "Win" plus the key for "R". Then type this command: control+userpasswords2 to go into your accounts menu. Pick a new account there and just change your full name like that one is shown on the login screen. It's super easy.

it might be for an old Win 10 guide since the newest version doesn't have this feature. based on what I know, you just take a picture, pick a file to upload, then go to manage my account from there where it opens up accounts.microsoft.com in your browser (so you can change how your name looks) and also sign in with your local login instead, that's everything.
