Can you share tips on setting up a home mesh network? I have an AX3 quad-core WiFi 6 router that connects everything, including phones and PCs. I've also set up my smart home stuff. Most of my switches are linked to the AX network, but some won't connect. So I want to add a D-Link AC1200 Router to boost the range and make more devices link properly. Can anyone help me configure this?

First, tell me exactly what you need. "Mesh" could mean either connecting several Wi-Fi points with one wireless link OR having all those points share the same name. What are you actually looking for?

Some models of the DIR-825 work with OPENWRT or DD-WRT. To figure out what you have, check your router settings online. If there are problems with your wireless connection, maybe you need a different version of the firmware to fix it.

To set up these devices so they live in the same home, you need to use their hardware version 1 and software version 3.0.4.

The G1 won't work on OpenWRT or DD-WRT (see this link: https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopi...c7766443e5). I can't tell if you can use it as a wireless repeater.

You can check out this video, but you might not see the usual window for getting things done.

Thanks a lot. I've seen that video before, but one thing is wrong for me. My router has ISP firmware mixed inside it. When I go back to the factory settings, there isn't even an option to turn this into a repeater.
