He handles M:LL well with his Fury X setup. At 280x it drops to the low 20s even in 720p when advanced physics is active. I know the CPU uses physics, but object-based physics (like bullet casings) runs smoothly on a strong CPU. This player is in a fog-heavy zone, so it might be rendering fluid-based physics. When I’m in similar areas, my GPU and CPU usage stays minimal, but I still see poor frame rates regardless of other adjustments.

What is this setup? A 280X 20fps 720p low configuration? It’s not great. My 560 handled it at medium-high with a lot of tasseling at 1680x1050, keeping stable frames around 40-50 fps. On the other side, some folks use specialized PhysX cards.

Another GPU, also known as a dedicated PhysX card, can handle it. Or the CPU might be sufficient for rendering that kind of content.

Adjusted physX settings, but didn't notice any improvement in the game.

Get a dedicated PhysX card because your system lacks an Nvidia GPU. The CPU will handle PhysX instead.

I reviewed the video and noticed he doesn’t have a dedicated PhysX card. He’s using a 5960x with Fury X. Also, you can’t pair a dedicated PhysX card with an AMD processor in your system—Nvidia blocked that. With the newest updates, this isn’t possible. However, older versions might work... but games like Last Light wouldn’t function properly. So in this clip, it seems a 5960x is sufficient for advanced PhysX.

I use PhysX with my 290X, and based on what I've heard, it doesn't significantly impact my performance.
