I recently purchased it because the original game cost just $6. It serves as a solid start with its style, engaging narrative, and it even works on a potato!

I'm searching for good reasons to play Skyrim. I've been thinking about getting it before the sale closes.

Due to mods and the reality that the "remaster" is more of a sloppy port than a true remaster, using the Fallout 4 engine.

Besides the primary game, side missions and official expansions, there are also DLCs called 'mods'. Wyrmstooth, Falskaar and The Forgotten City are a few I own, though I'm sure there are many more available.

Actually, Fallout 4 began as a remake of Skyrim.

Bethesda says 2013 marked the beginning of Fallout 4’s development. That’s not true. Just two years isn’t enough time for such a large, open-world project. In fact, Todd Howard talked about working on two titles—The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and an unnamed game—which was probably Fallout 4. Essentially, he followed the usual pattern and misled people. Remastering a game before its release is simply not possible.

Opt for the standard Skyrim experience if you prefer a straightforward playthrough.

Because the remaster only updates what's already in the DLC, it offers no real changes.
