No, not at all—consider playing games other than SIMS. My setup includes a GTX 1080 and 8700K, and most titles run smoothly at maximum settings, except for RDR2 which is quite demanding on most systems. TechPowerUp notes that a 3060 offers roughly 16% better performance compared to a 1080 at 1080p.
Well the previous time I talked about other games—I might have seemed like I was asking them to handle the tasks for me. However, I’m probably going to play Nancy Drew games (though not all at once). They need a minimum of 3GB of RAM, except for one game where I’ll have to purchase an external disk drive. The Bluestacks app also requires 4GB of RAM so I can run some games on it. For non-games, I’ll need to download Photoscape for editing SimLit photos, which works fine on a Windows computer. Additionally, I’ll need Adobe Reader for the newspaper "stories" in my SimLit library.
For your intended purpose, $2000 CDN is excessive.

I own 7 EPs of SIms 4, 13 Stuff packs of Sims 4, 7 Game packs of the Sims 4, and I plan to purchase 3 more EPs and 1 Stuff pack. All these items are 4GB of RAM each. This includes space for Mods and CC as well. The Nancy Drew Games and my existing games have varying RAM needs—some need 1GB, others 3GB. Bluestacks, which runs Sims, also requires 4GB. Adobe is free, but both Adobe and PhotoScape will use storage space. I also need to download Photoscape.
It seems reasonable, I concur, but I still want to ensure the person asking is familiar with gaming and possibly expanding their game collection. That said, it's clear that nothing discussed so far needs a 2000 CAN PC. Also, since you referenced the unedited version of my previous post, I'll note that a 3060 would offer slightly better performance than mine.
