so sense I love the mouse and all is there a way to make the DPI shift button like do nothing and just the key I assigned it to let's say #5 and if I accidentally click the regular DPI button nothing will annoy me? I don't want to return the mouse just because of a DPI accidental click other buttons don't annoy me. Just DPI my fingers are long I use palm/claw grip. That DPI shift button gets to me I want it to be #5 on keyboard and nothing for use on that button lol

Launch the LGS software and simply drag the DPI macro from its designated key or click it to remove the macro assignment. The DPI shift is inherent within the system's settings and can be modified. Note that this functionality isn’t a game-integrated button; it must be configured through the LGS software. Windows only processes mouse buttons up to five (left, right, middle, backward, and forward).

I own the G502 and I believed its functions could be customized via the program.

Did you manage to change the DPI shift button to a keyboard key? I'd like it so that the DPI shift button only activates when the newly designated button is pressed.

Launch the LGS program and drag the DPI macro from its designated key or click it to remove the assignment. The DPI adjustment is inherent within the system's settings and can be modified. This function isn’t a game-integrated button; it must be configured through the LGS software. Windows only acknowledges mouse buttons for the first five (left, right, middle, backward, and forward) buttons.

Cool lol I made a random account to ask this so worth it. You can also do some kind of like hold time for DPI shift right? Like 5-10 second hold for DPI shift?

Logitech131:
Funny, I created a new profile just to inquire about this – it’s worthwhile. You might also be able to implement a sustained “hold” feature for DPI adjustments, perhaps a 5-10 second press to change the DPI?

That could prove challenging. The DPI settings aren't accessible within standard multi-key macros, which would be necessary to maintain the setting for 10 seconds and then release it. However, you can utilize their scripting tool to achieve this, but it’s complex if you lack programming experience.

I’m trying to learn how to code… I was curious about a technique where you press and hold the DPI shift button for five seconds to prevent unintentional activation. I plan to explore using the script editor, but if scripting isn't your strong suit, is it okay to experiment with it?

This appears unusual, since typically you desire DPI adjustment while holding it; however, proceed as follows:

1) Establish two DPI configurations for your chosen profile – the standard one and a reduced DPI setting.
2) Develop two mouse macros: "DPI Up" and "DPI Down." Do not map these to a key; retain them within the left-hand list in the LGS software.
3) Insert this script into the script editor (right-click the profile and select scripting or editor).

I appreciate your assistance, that’s really helped a lot! Initially, I was considering the G303 because there were no issues, but I desired buttons and unfortunately experienced a problem with the left thumb button on my mouse – some users suggested placing my thumb slightly in front of it, yet it still wouldn't function. Now it’s simply a standard button that serves no purpose. Additionally, my DPI shift button has been altered, allowing me to click it without frustration! Wonderful!

😊
!!! I understand why you received those accolades; you’ve been a valuable resource for a new user, and I didn’t anticipate such a prompt response!
