I've seen many discussions about different PSUs and people asking for various accessories, but everyone insists on buying from the manufacturer. I'm confused about how to choose a cable. CM wants me to buy every accessory available for my PSU, except the one that came with it. Can you help? I'm not sure what I'm doing. I have four 8-pin PCIe slots, two 6+2 slots, and a 4+4 slot. I think I need three PCIe slots or one more (preferably a 6+2). I'm especially looking for a 6+2 adapter for the 4080 triple adapter. It would have been great if I could get it back in time without losing my weekend. P.S. I'd really like a standard stock cable instead of a custom one.

It seems a bit unclear. Unless I'm wrong, this PSU includes precisely four PCIe 6+2 connectors across two cables. You'll need to link them together to use it. In any case, I'd prefer a better quality power supply than a decent midrange one if you're planning to run the 4080.

For a quick answer. I have 7700x running two cables and two spares (one for the 1070). I didn’t daisy chain because there was a graphic in the box with the 4080 warning not to daisy chain with the triple adapter and to use only three separate cables. Would it be okay to do so? The 4080 is the suppress x, and the adapter came with it in the box—does that matter? Also, I plan to upgrade to a better PSU later, probably in about eight months. I want to plan carefully and keep things looking good.

I wouldn't take the chance because modern high-end Nvidia GPUs are extremely power-hungry. I'd also avoid using anything below a premium PSU for a $1000+ GPU, and even if a third cable were available, I wouldn't go that way. Your approach to risk might differ from mine.
I'm uncertain about what your build will be like in a year—this is just safety gear. Whatever you do next year doesn't affect how you handle this issue now.
