How can i get internet?
I’m preparing a PC build with the ASUS TUF Gaming B450-Plus II. You want a Wi-Fi-free setup at home using Ethernet, but you’ll need internet for a LAN party. Using your phone’s hotspot via USB to connect the PC is possible, and you can also use the ASUS Prime B450M-A II MoBo as an alternative.
A LAN party that needs Wi-Fi is one where internet access is necessary for streaming, sharing files, or connecting to online services during the event.
I struggle to imagine a LAN party lacking Ethernet or Wi-Fi at the venue. For latency-sensitive games like FPS, an Ethernet connection is ideal. More devices joining the same Wi-Fi network will slow everyone down. Relying on cellular data is only acceptable if you need minimal latency; otherwise, it should work for turn-based titles.
Check if the host has an Ethernet port on the back. Bring your own cable and possibly a network switch so others can connect their devices. If not, consider purchasing a basic wireless card—USB or PCIe options start around $3–5. For a LAN party, aim for fast speeds to share files, set up a local hub, or use FTP/Windows shares instead of relying on the internet.
