How can I fix my laptop?
In short, I updated my drivers via AMD autodetect, but it missed the APU plus another GPU setup. It restarted itself, then after the HP logo no login appeared. After waiting 20 minutes, I booted from a Windows 10 recovery USB, but the repair option wasn’t visible. I installed Ubuntu to continue working. About four hours later, I resolved the issue and got into Windows 8.1 instead of Windows 10. It stopped rebooting because GNU GRUB was active (Ubuntu bootloader). It went straight to the console, and I couldn’t return. Even after rebooting five times for 5–19 minutes, it didn’t pass the HP logo screen. Through many attempts, I managed to reach BIOS or the Windows 10 recovery. I’ve tried using both Windows 10 recovery and installation drives, but they failed. The recovery menu crashed if I tried to reset or do anything else except boot from USB. Any suggestions for fixing my laptop?
Did you try this method? Or did you rely on HP's built-in recovery? I recommend formatting the whole laptop to Windows 10 using the media creation utility linked above, removing the recovery partitions and similar files—they’re not helpful with Windows 10 because it includes a built-in reset feature. (Assuming your device originally came with Windows 8.1 is another strong reason to reformat.) Don’t worry about activation; it will activate automatically once you connect to the internet. If the USB doesn’t boot, enter BIOS, turn off SecureBoot, and set USB as the first boot priority.
