Hey guys, I'm trying to get this new HP laptop working but after entering my network password, it's asking me to log in with Microsoft. My buddy is out of town right now, so should I try another way to finish setting it up?

Redo the install. But don't worry about a network connection being needed now. If they already have a factory-made operating system installed on their computer, why would you bother trying to change things? Just let them set it up themselves instead.

Usually, Windows 10 has a choice to finish even if you aren't connected. But when I run the install, nothing shows up that way. The "Next" button won't work until I'm actually connected.

Does this HP computer have a special operating system built right out of the box?

Actually you are adding more trouble there. It will take a lot of effort from him because he has so many tools and accounts already in place. I think it's better if you just let him handle that part instead.
