my graphics card speed goes up way too much when I play games. my gpu clock drops to 1700-1800, and my memory clock drops to 7000 because of this. that's why my gpu gets hot around 72 or 73 degrees while playing Valorant in 1080p on medium settings. when I go to high settings though, the temp jumps all the way up to 82 degrees. I even changed my fan speeds too, but this is still normal for my graphics card and memory? how are temps doing during gaming at 1080p with medium settings equal to 65 or 73 degrees and with high settings equaling 70 or 83 degrees. are these numbers okay?? bro please help
All modern graphics cards have a boost clock, so it's normal for that speed to go up. This happens when the processor feels more work coming in. At 80 degrees Celsius with your GPU hitting 82, what fan setting are you on? Is that 82 the average temp or just where the hottest part gets? Hot spots are usually higher anyway. The main issue is probably too much heat from outside and a case without side vents plus only one back fan. In a cooler room I use a full tower with two back fans and added a side one to pull cool air straight at my GPU. I also clear out every HDD bay behind the front middle fan, using only those behind the top and bottom front ones instead. This makes a clear path for cool air into the card. Have you tried lowering your room temperature? Also, is either the CPU or GPU overclocked, which causes higher temps? If you or where you bought them had overspeeding turned on, I'd suggest turning it off now to run at normal speed. Make sure both of your processors slow down when you stop playing. Did you check if both GPUs are spinning correctly?
