I'm curious about how everyone managed their ship controls. I've been using a HOTAS setup so far and it's working well, though I'm still learning. Also, do any of you use Voice Attack or Trackir (or something like that)?

Which HOTAS configuration are you considering? I was thinking about purchasing one, but I’m unsure if it’s worth the investment. 200 bucks? That’s a big question.

I'm considering using Rhino now and would get a better result. It looks stunning and very comfortable, though it seems poorly constructed. I've encountered issues such as unresponsive buttons, squeaking plastic, and grease buildup. For the next project, I'll opt for the Thrustmaster Warthog or similar models.

I'm using a Saitek X52 pro and it's been really satisfying. I bought it because I plan to use it with Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous. As a beginner in HOTAS, I can't judge how it stacks up against others. If you're willing to wait, there seems to be some development on RSI for Star Citizen with companies like Saitek or CH Products.

I've been using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and it works better than a regular mouse or keyboard. It's a solid choice for the price, though the controls aren't perfect. I'm planning to upgrade to a X55 Rhino since that's what I can afford for a high-end setup. Having the mouse and throttle separate feels much more comfortable than what I currently have. I tried using voice commands, but they didn't really help much. Hornets still managed to surprise me despite the setup.

joystick after update becomes quite sensitive, making keyboard and mouse more convenient now

We should compile a list of profiles for joysticks and hotas to assist users in setting them up. Right now my setup is quite sensitive, but there are profiles available for the inf type editor for SC.

I own the Saitek X52 and ProFlight Rudder Pedals, but I haven’t even started using them until they let us customize controls in SC. Right now, I’m sticking with the keyboard and mouse setup. Just discovered yesterday that TrackIR is working now—still not tested on my rig, but I think it could boost situational awareness during dogfights.

That sounds like a solid plan! It’s normal to feel a bit overwhelmed by joysticks and XML profiles at first. Having links to different profiles would definitely help. I’m currently at work, but I hope I can work on it later tonight.
