Hey everyone, just installed a Corsair H150i 360 on my 5900X. It’s not overclocking or anything, but I’m seeing idle temps between 44-50°C and the Cinebench test reaches around 82°C without exceeding it. Feels a bit warm, especially since this is my first AMD chip—previously used Intel parts that stayed cooler. I’m checking if these chips really run hot continuously and that the thermal paste placement was correct. PBO is enabled now, and I’m pretty sure the contact with the chip is solid, though I misplaced the paste earlier.
The temperatures are slightly higher than expected for a 360mm AIO setup, though within normal ranges. Most operation stays around 40°C (AMD’s boost algorithm behaves strangely and applies significant voltage during light loads), reaching roughly 75-80°C when the system is under load without PBO. I’d think you either applied a decent thermal paste or are in a warmer environment than average. Personally, my 5900X has custom water cooling with PBO active, and it still reaches about 85°C—still quite typical for that model.
