Hello, I have a home server running Plex with virtualization. I need to connect from various external networks—like my phone and other computers. The main issue is not having a public IP address, which prevents me from setting up my own VPN or port-forwarding. Currently, I rely on software such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer, but those don’t fully solve the problem since Plex runs on TrueNAS Scale, not in a VM. I’ve explored VPN proxy options like Nord and Tunnelbear, but they don’t work for me. What are my alternatives? Thanks for your help.

I understand PIA provides a private IP address and port you can reach from outside. I previously operated an MC server using this setup.

Checking the costs, does the price apply to the standard plan or is it an additional service? The 3 euros you saw matches roughly the cost of your public IP from your ISP.

NordVPN now includes MeshNet in its client tools. For other options to explore, consider Tailscale Headscale ZeroTier Nebula Pritunl Enclave.io.
