Horrible Audio Feedback Loop
Horrible Audio Feedback Loop
Here’s a rewritten version of the text:
“I’m experiencing a frustrating issue with my audio setup – an ASUS Xonar DGX sound card and a Boom Pro microphone. I recently connected them to my computer for gaming, using a splitter cable to connect the audio and mic inputs. However, my voice isn't being picked up; instead, I’m getting an echo of all the PC sounds.
I’ve tried various troubleshooting steps – different cables, driver updates, checking settings – but nothing seems to work. When I mute my microphone, the echo disappears, but the audio in my headset shifts slightly to the left.
I'm completely stuck and would really appreciate any suggestions or solutions you might have!”
The first step is to make sure the connections are correct. For example, the splitter mic is plugged into the mic in and not the headphone out. The splitter headphone is plugged into the headphone out and not the mic in. Also make sure that every connection is plugged in all the way. If you are not sure about the setup, take a image and upload it.
I am leaning less towards this problem being caused by drivers or settings on the PC.
I've included a link to a picture I've just taken. I've checked all connections and everything is plugged in properly

the headphones work without the mic plugged in, but the button to mute the mic still makes the audio shift.
No echo though.
And i get nothing with just the microphone plugged in.
But if i play my audio through the tv i can record my voice, but its echoing and very quiet. like I'm muffled at the other end of a tunnel.
I turned mic boost on and i had horrible noise that just kept getting louder.
Here’s a rewritten version of your text:
“I’m having trouble with my audio devices. When I plug my microphone and headphones into my computer, the microphone continues to pick up sound from my phone, even when muted. The mute button on the headphones also doesn't work – it just lowers the volume. It seems like there’s a fundamental issue with how the computer is recognizing or controlling the audio signals.”
You seem to have a lot of cross-talking. I took it from your original post that you had the BoomPro mic for a while. Did it have this issue when connected to other sources?
Here’s a rewritten version of the text, focusing on clarity and removing redundancy:
“I’ve been experiencing microphone issues when using a splitter cable connected to my PlayStation 4, PC, and laptop. Initially, I suspected problems with the microphone itself, but over time, it has functioned correctly without the splitter. Recently, I tested a standalone headset with separate audio and microphone jacks, which worked seamlessly on my PC – suggesting the splitter is faulty. To resolve this, I’ve ordered a replacement splitter cable from Amazon, scheduled for delivery today. This will allow me to thoroughly test its functionality and provide an update.”
the new splitter has arrived, i don't have any audio issues anymore. No feedback loop, no shifting of sound when using the mute button.
But my microphone is still dead, i get nothing from it.
the cheap headset i bought still works fine, which is annoying
