I recently purchased and set up Forza Horizon 3. I tested it using a friend’s account to assess my PC's performance. My system fulfills the minimum specifications, though it nearly satisfies the recommended ones, except for the memory (8GB compared to the suggested 12GB). However, when I attempt to play, after approximately 20 minutes of gameplay, the game experiences significant stuttering and freezes. This renders the game unplayable regardless of the graphics settings I adjust. My friend, who has identical hardware aside from increased RAM, can run the same game smoothly. Given this disparity, shouldn't a difference in RAM capacity at least allow for low-level performance? I’ve attempted numerous online solutions without success. I am curious: why is my game exhibiting such severe lag? Could it be related to the amount of RAM installed?

PC specifications:
Intel Core i5-8400
Asus ROG Strix 1050 Ti
8 GB Crucial RAM at 2133 MHz (exact type uncertain)
7200 RPM Samsung HDD (game installed here)

Your computer lacks sufficient memory to execute the game. RAM’s primary function is to operate applications; increasing your RAM will enable gameplay. The recommended amount presently is 16GB.

Kashimi:
Your computer lacks sufficient memory (RAM) to execute the game—that’s precisely its function. Increasing your RAM is necessary for gaming; 16GB is presently considered the recommended amount.

Shut down any unnecessary background processes, such as Steam, antivirus software, NVIDIA streaming services, or GeForce Experience—anything that might be consuming your RAM.

kerberos_20 :
Shut down any running processes in the background, such as Steam, antivirus software, NVIDIA streaming services/GeForce Experience, and anything else consuming your RAM. Closing applications won’t solve the problem; he doesn't fulfill the necessary system specifications to operate the game, and it’s remarkable that it even starts.

These suggested configurations…many games advise using 8-core processors even though 4 cores would suffice… nevertheless, these supplementary tasks can conserve approximately 1 to 2 gigabytes of memory.

These suggested configurations… many games advise using 8-core processors even though 4 cores are often sufficient… nevertheless, those auxiliary processes could conserve approximately 1-2 gigabytes of memory. The central processing unit isn't relevant to the memory situation here; his available RAM is inadequate.

I recently tested Forza Horizon 3, limiting background RAM to 2GB. After completing a few laps, RAM usage remained between 8-9GB, while GPU memory was fully utilized and 1.5GB was allocated as shared. Considering my GPU has 3GB of RAM compared to his 4GB, it’s likely he can run the game without significant swapping. My system is consuming extra RAM because my graphics card lacks sufficient memory. Reducing the system RAM usage by 1GB demonstrates that it would fit within his PC's specifications – he has 8GB of system RAM plus 4GB of graphics (totaling 12GB). The image shows 11.2GB of RAM being utilized.
