You're experiencing input issues with your g305 mouse. It seems the left-click button behaves erratically, causing pauses in your gameplay. Have you considered checking for software updates or trying different mouse settings? Also, it might help to inspect the mouse's internal components or consult a technician if the problem persists.

I faced a problem with my Logitech G502 a while back. The right-click button would freeze when pressed and then switch between registering and not responding, which was super frustrating during gameplay or camera work. The only fix was swapping the mouse. I got the G502 again because it felt comfortable in my claw grip and worked perfectly.

The G300s issue appears different, but it might be another cause. Restarting my PC seems to fix the problem. My computer probably ran out of resources. It’s a simple machine, and I’m planning an upgrade.

It seems the switch is malfunctioning. @Uzetaab agrees with your thoughts, a restart might just be a temporary fix. Mouse switch failures are quite common. Swapping them for better quality can extend their lifespan significantly. The switches themselves are inexpensive. Reputable brands from trusted suppliers usually cost between $2 and $3 each (plus shipping). If you handle it carefully and apply heat, you might salvage the skates, but I’d suggest getting new ones. This is based on your assumption that you already have soldering tools. Overall, a simple repair should be manageable if you’ve done the work before.

You're likely correct. It usually occurs only when I push this PC to its limits. Running Chrome and GIMP together is quite demanding for it. i5 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM, slow SATA drive, no GPU, Windows 10. The issue mainly appears with GIMP and keeps happening until I restart Windows. Google Photos recently released an update for their photo editor, but it doesn't load properly on this machine. Yeah, you're probably right about the button failing. I just hope I can stretch its life a bit longer.

It could be you have something else going on, it's just this is such a common issue, usually my first go to is "its the mouse." Have you tried another mouse? That would verify if it's the mouse or the OS. That might be worth trying in your case, just to verify.

You're planning to receive a new PC soon and will need to use the mouse with it.

You might want to consider these options. Since you seem familiar with mice, let me know what you need!
