Hey y'all, I've bought an Alienware aw3423dwf because I wanted to try out OLED and HDR gaming. It's been an amazing monitor so far. The only issue I have is that sometimes, when HDR is enabled in Windows, videos appear oversaturated as hell as you can see in the screenshots. It's only affecting videos, not pictures or text or anything else. Every nvidia RTX viode feature is turned off. Sometimes dragging another windows to the screen, even if the video is in full screen, solves the issue but not always. I have no idea what causes the issue since most of the time it just works as intended. I've tried all setting in the nvidia and Windows HDR control panels but nothing seems to do the trick except for turning off HDR in Windows or closing and opening the browser a few times. I'm on Windows 11 22631.3737, Brave 1.67.119 and nvidia grd 555.99 Oh, also watching content on floatplane is fine but other streaming services like YouTube, Netflix or Prime Video are still messed up.

Did you perform HDR calibration? Or are you just turning it on and adjusting a few parameters? Also, I've noticed that a low-quality or defective cable can lead to problems like this.

I adjusted the HDR settings and fine-tuned the monitor, but the videos still appear this way. I also tested various DP cables without improvement. Edit: Swapping the cables between my two monitors resolved the issue—HDR now works perfectly! It looks like other cables aren’t up to the task.

Said too much already, the issue resurfaced today. No explanation yet.
