Hey everyone, just checking in about the Witcher 3. I've cranked everything to ultra and am seeing around 40 frames per second. I thought I'd get smoother performance, but it's still not great. The Hairworks setting might help a bit, but how much improvement can you expect?

Not 4k, sorry for the mistake. 1440p was correct.

It really seems artificial and smooth, with hardly any other person having their hair styled this way. Being told the Yennefer hair isn’t part of the norm was quite disheartening.

On my GTX 770 I selected High Preset, adjusted texture detail to ULTRA, and disabled AA, Bloom, Depth of Field, Motion Blur, and Hair Works. I turned off AA since the sharpness difference wasn’t noticeable even at 23.5" 1080p. With V-Sync enabled, I haven’t observed a drop from 60 FPS to 30 FPS yet—I don’t have a FPS counter but haven’t seen any sudden stutter.

You're confused about the purpose of the game. It seems you want to test how turning off Hairworks affects your results. Why rely on others when you can evaluate it yourself?

Of course I'll give it a shot once I'm back, but it's helpful to hear others' opinions. That's why I rely on forums.

It requires more than 25% additional GPU power on my GTX 970, which means adjust accordingly
