Higher voltage than what I set
Higher voltage than what I set
I tried adjusting the CPU voltage to 1.245 volts in BIOS, but when I start Windows I see it reading 1.261 voits with HWMonitor. After much effort, I still can't get it to maintain the desired voltage. I'm confused because this seems unusual and I doubt I set something wrong in BIOS. My system details are: i5-3570K, 16GB DDR3 RAM at 1600 MHz on ASUS P8Z77-V motherboard with EVGA GTX 960.
Ensure you have the most recent BIOS update for your motherboard. The BIOS may detect voltage issues. You can also check voltages using CPU-Z. When discussing stability, it appears you're running an overclock. Could you clarify which clocks you're referring to? Please share your VID for the chip. Also, are you using 16GB or a 4x4GB memory module?
Yes, I'm running a 4GHz overclock with a 4x4GB RAM setup and the newest BIOS version.
