Sure, 3080 at 1440p is really taxing your CPU. Try boosting FPS, the 8700 should handle the threads, though it might not be ideal for smooth gameplay. With 80% overall usage, that’s a lot of strain—game performance could suffer if it isn’t stable.

What method do you use to track your input lag? Are you competing in intense events? Otherwise, cap your frames per second just under your display refresh and enable Gsync if it’s supported.

So I have been running Rainbow 6 Siege for the pass 2 hours, here is what happened: 1) Limiting FPS to 165 does make my frame time consistence, around 6ms. 2) However, when I did not set a limiter, the frame time of unlimited framerate is much lower, at 4ms. 3) With unlimited framerate, my frame time jumps between 4ms to 8ms depending on what is happen on screen. I am not playing in high stakes tournaments, but I am quite competitive. I have not measure my input delay with tools, but it is noticeable as if my ping have spiked. (My ping is normal the whole time) This "laggy feeling" is solved by limiting my framerate, even though it produces higher frametime. But since it is not jumping all around, it is not noticeable.

The issues arise from spikes at 8ms. Reducing FPS can improve performance, so adjust accordingly.
