I recently assembled a 1500 computer after using a laptop that ran smoothly at 50fps on low settings. However, I experience significant ping spikes making playback difficult. I installed a motherboard featuring an ax200 Wi-Fi chip. When my ping remains steady, it feels like a normal response compared to my laptop’s performance. My main guess was that pushing too much bandwidth caused the issues, so I turned off Wi-Fi on my phone and laptop and set the card to operate at 2.4GHz to reduce usage. I’m running out of ideas and would appreciate any suggestions. If you have more questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Could you share your specific motherboard model? I’d suggest swapping the antenna on Amazon for one in a stronger signal area to boost performance.

I own the Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 ATX AM4 board, yet I haven’t faced any issues there. This time I’m using a stronger Wi-Fi card.

Test your phone's speed directly from its antenna location. The same workspace might offer varying signal strength depending on position—like the top versus the edge of the desk where the antenna sits. Also, confirm all your motherboard drivers are installed and current.
