The core voltage remains quite high even at the target clock speed of 4.7Ghz, staying around 1.314V. The 92mm CPU fan is the maximum performance I can achieve. At least the voltage doesn't rise to 1.4V at that frequency anymore.
When chips become warm, transistors allow voltage to escape. To maintain operation, you increase power input. At any moment, a fraction of transistors remain inactive. If too many cease functioning due to lack of voltage, it can cause a freeze, blue screen, or black screen. Essentially, the main challenge is managing heat beyond what’s needed for basic function. You mentioned you have an Asus board—could you specify which one? This will give us clearer insight.
Also, adding a couple of fans (around 80mm) should help. They’ll aid cooling in the VRM package, CPU, and cooler base. Heat from VRMs and CPU can be shared via PCB traces, so addressing this should help resolve the issue.
