Hello everyone, I’m facing some confusion. My Ryzen 5800x3d was struggling with high temperatures during Cinebench, hitting around 90°C. I have a Deepcool L240T cooler. In the top test it cooled down to 80°C with a -0.10 overvoltage setting, while in the lower score it reached 74°C with -0.143. I lost about 1000 points in Cinebench. What’s considered normal for that setup? Won’t this affect my gaming performance—like FPS or frame rates? I’m not very technical, so please clarify if I misunderstood anything. Thanks!

The 5800X3D often heats up during all-core tasks since the CPU's heat must pass through the V-Cache before reaching the cooler. It's normal for it to reach temperatures around 80°C. During light gaming sessions, it won't get that hot. Consider reverting to a -0.10v setting if you're okay with that—clearly it dislikes aggressive undervolting when your Cinebench score drops by nearly 10%.

The 10 minutes of CBR23 with just 80c works well. I’d go with the -0.1 as suggested by @YoungBlade.

In Call Of Duty (Warzone 2.0) I hit 75Cº in the flight simulator and reached 80Cº. Both games ran at Undervolt -0.10; I'm unsure if it's an advantage, but the clock increased by 0.50mhz with Undervolt -0.15 (offset) and 73º (cinebench r23).

They're built to handle temperatures up to 90°C before performance drops. Seeing 80-85°C during a synthetic test shows all cores are working well. This isn't great if the result was lower, unless the heat makes it more pleasant.

I need to admit, I’m uneasy with temps above 75º. Should I revert to -0.10 or keep it at -0.15? My worry is it might hurt game performance more than at -0.10.

The variation in games is likely too small to notice in those options. I recommend running an OCCT test for a minimum of an hour using the -0.15 setting to verify stability.

Don't worry about adjusting vcore offsets at all. Setting -30 in the curve optimizer should suffice. The process varies with your room temperature as well. You can observe that I reached 70°C while the furnace was active. I allowed it to run for 10 minutes and maintained 15K. Edit: I only have a single stock fan on my CPU, and none of them reach full speed.

Environment temperature is fine. The curve optimizer runs at -30°C across all cores, but stability varies by processor.

Its only 4450MHz, not 5GHz. Besides, it has plenty of voltage for it. On the very slight chance -30 doesn't work, -25 will. All core.
