High temperatures on this i5 9600k processor

Hey everyone, I've noticed some lag spikes in games like CS:GO lately. After checking temperatures under heavy load, I found they can reach up to 100°C. That's quite high, especially with my current cooler setup. Should I upgrade to better cooling or just tweak the thermal paste? Thanks for the advice!

How long has your cooler been working? If it hasn't maintained its temperature well, it might indicate the cooler is malfunctioning.

Many people suggested you might be dealing with a bad cooler. If you're not sure, you could lower the voltage on your CPU slightly.

I’d prefer a 240mm AIO or a solid air cooler such as a Noctua U12A. My roommate keeps his 9600k running on a Kraken X62 and it stays nicely cool, reaching 4.9GHz. I don’t believe a 120mm AIO is sufficient, and the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML lineup doesn’t seem very impressive to me.
