i recently assembled a new pc and after installing all components and testing it, i experienced temperatures reaching up to 90°c during gameplay. i’m puzzled as the max recorded was only 95°c, but my system should be handling at least 70°c comfortably. i’ve double-checked everything for compatibility and confirmed all parts are in good condition. the cooler is new and should be working properly, yet the temps remain high. i suspect a potential issue with the bios or overclocking settings rather than hardware faults. i tried adjusting core voltage to 1.1v but even then, running prime95 causes it to crash at around 90°c. could there be another factor affecting stability?

I adjusted my RAM speed to 3200 and kept everything else simple on a fresh build. However, I didn’t realize that even with the default Ryzen Master settings, Prime95 would crash my system straight to a blue screen. I thought the stock cooler was sufficient, so I increased the CPU fan speed to 100%. After applying the new paste using TG-7 thermal grease, the issue persisted.

In Ryzen Master you can monitor the power consumption—does the processor continue delivering over 70W at these temperatures or is it reducing performance and still getting hot? Try turning off PBO in the BIOS to test. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, enable eco-mode; if it doesn’t help then there may be problems with your case’s cooling system.

I'm starting with the bios now to check everything. I can capture my thermal images while using Ryzen with Prime 95. Just give me a moment.

unfortunately i already had PBO disabled, i dont know how to set eco mode on my bios it only has Asus Optimized as a preset option is bios. i took a screen cap of the short 10 min Prime95 test because its to high for me to constantly run it. ive heard using the latest prime version is bad for ryzen cpu tests something about 20c higher temps for no reason blah blah. i dont know if its true or not. i can run cinebench r20 just fine at 82c which to me thats a normal reading

ThermalTake TG-7 performs poorly for heat transfer. Compare it to a tube of MX-4 or similar products. The "rice" technique works better. For AMD processors, a small pea-sized ball in the middle or spread works just fine.
