Hey everyone, I'm testing my 5800X with PBO on Cinebench R23. The multi-score is 14503, which seems low. Temperatures are between 87-90°C. The max clock speed is 4,500 MHz, but the Ryzen master says it should be up to 4,950. The temps look higher than expected, possibly causing the low score and reduced speed. If you notice anything odd, please let me know. Thanks for your help!

Consider reapplying the thermal paste, maybe the initial coat wasn’t sufficient. Also check if the cooler is securely fastened over the CPU; if it’s not tight or positioned correctly, it could lead to overheating and reduced performance. The CPU might be throttling because of elevated temperatures, which explains the lower scores.

I used Cinebench 14758 on a Noctua u14s with a temperature of 89°C. Initially, after switching to AMD Wraith Prism, it reached 90°C, and with the default settings in Cinebench 14225, no PBO was enabled using MSI Tomahawk Wi-Fi.

It seems you're experiencing some cooling challenges. You might want to remove the plastic covering the block for the cooler. Alternatively, consider these tips to improve the situation. Ryzen 5000 Undervolting with PBO2 – Definitely Worth Trying - YouTube I've experimented with it and captured some early images. My clocks have reached 5100 single-core now and maintained around 4.7-4.8 across all cores. The next step would be to capture more screenshots. Results similar to these are common in the 5000 series just by undervolting alone. Increasing thermal and power margins allows PBO to push performance without hurting ST or MT.

Start with the initial setup using xmp(3200/14). After two minutes it reached 90°C and I halted. Replaced the heat sink and applied paste more evenly rather than centered. Result was R23 at 15215 with a max of 89°C. Trying another cooler might yield better outcomes.
