I've owned my computer for nearly two years and swapped out my CPU cooler twice, possibly a third soon. My setup was built by NZXT and performed well for about eight months. I observed a significant amount of heat from my CPU, prompting the cooler replacement. The cooler model is a Kraken M22. Recently, I looked into this product and found some inconsistencies in its construction. I'm curious if there are alternative CPU coolers that could help manage the heat from my I7-9700k. The attached file displays the temperature readings at this moment, with only Google Chrome and NZXT Cam running in the background. The sensor might be incorrect, or your temperature settings could be displayed in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius. Keep it at 190 F which equals 87 C, a very high reading. 120mm AIO units such as the Kraken M22 are unnecessary unless you're working on a specific setup where compatibility is required. Can you share what cooler models you've used before? What's your overall setup? Which fan settings are you using?
Sorry, I understand you're using Fahrenheit for clarity. I've only swapped the coolers with the Kraken M22 model. The case is an NZXT H510, and I'm not very familiar with the fan settings you're referring to. If you mean the current configuration, it's set to performance mode. I purchased this computer a few years ago and hope it runs smoothly again. Appreciate your help!
Guesswork here, but maybe Middcore meant the intake/exhaust setup for the whole unit? What sizes of fans are you using for cooling in and out? Also, I’d agree with him about the temperatures. CPUs from any brand shouldn’t hit those high temps unless you’re applying a lot of stress. Anything reaching the 80s could mean bad thermal paste or poor contact between the cooler and CPU. I’m not an expert, but even basic coolers shouldn’t exceed around 60-70 degrees.
This forum is dominated by American users who rely on Celcius for discussions about PCs, especially since it's the standard system in official specs and reviews. The focus is mainly on the H510 model, a popular high-performance case. I'm referring to the fans inside the case—not just the cooler’s fan. I need to know how many fans there are and their sizes, distinguishing between intake and exhaust units. I suspect you only have the components that come with the H510. In short, unless you upgrade your case and cooler, maintaining stable temperatures won’t be possible.

Sharing a photo of your setup with the side panel open would clarify many of our concerns. I concur with @Middcore that the M22 isn’t a useful CPU cooler. An affordable air cooler would be a better choice than a budget AIO, for instance a Hyper212 would perform even better. Still, 87C running at idle is unusually warm, even with the M22 and a 510 case. I’m worried about the pump not running, fans not spinning, and the plastic still attached to the CPU cooler. There could be several reasons. A picture would really help us diagnose the issue.
