Details: OS version Win 11, RTX 3080, 64 GB RAM, DDR5, Ryzen 9 7950x. Also noticed BIOS reports 50, but Windows spikes to 75-80 after boot. Just became aware of this recently, though it might be a longer issue.

It’s easy to overlook, but does the pump operate inside your AIO? You should notice its sound when it starts, particularly during initialization (the fluid flowing is noticeable). Ensure the pump is powered through a dedicated header intended for pump operation (consult your board manual) and that your motherboard maintains full pump functionality at all times. Avoid PMW or DC control mechanisms that might react to temperature shifts. Verify your BIOS configurations for these settings. If issues persist, consider reapplying thermal paste and repositioning the cooler. Also, remove any sticker from the AIO coldplate.

It seems the cooler isn’t performing properly. You might notice vibrations from the tubes when it’s running, indicating fluid movement. If not, the pump may be faulty or there could be a blockage. Also, check if you applied the right amount of thermal paste during installation.

For the Ryzen 5000 lineup, temperatures tend to rise sharply during startup. The main hotspot area is Tdie/Tctrl, and the CPU often reaches its peak speed when handling light tasks, which are typical at boot time. It usually stays elevated rather than just a brief spike.

It remains elevated if I'm fortunate, but it drops to 73. When playing games like Division 1, I experience temperatures around 85-87. I put it in myself and use the built-in paste.

As per the bios, it mentions 3000 rpm.

Your BIOS shows a steady 3000 RPM on the pump without significant changes. When you place your ear close to the pump or block and power up your PC, you can clearly hear the sound of water moving.

I won’t experience any changes and will need to check this after half an hour when I return, though I don’t hear anything except fans, but I can sense the liquid vibration.

If you sense the water flowing, that's acceptable. Occasionally, pumps may stop working or be set up incorrectly, causing the loop to remain inactive.

A pump can function without actively moving water, though it might not prevent sudden temperature increases. If other fixes don’t work, consider reinstalling the cooler and inspecting the thermal paste for degradation. This should be a final resort.
