I recently assembled a build featuring an Intel 10850K processor paired with an MSI B560M Mortar Wi-Fi chipset. It doesn’t have a dedicated GPU. After a day of use, I observed rapid fluctuations in bandwidth—spikes jumping from 800 MHz to 4900 MHz and then dropping back down within a second. There were no temperature increases. Is this typical behavior for Intel i9s even when idle? My CPU is running at around 40°C, while some cores reached 100°C during a multi-core R23 benchmark. I’m concerned about the spike pattern and wonder if disabling Intel Turbo Boost in BIOS helped lower temperatures. That did reduce the heat, but it didn’t eliminate the fluctuations. Now the system is oscillating between 3.6GHz and back to 800 MHz. The temperatures are reaching up to 61°C on the multi-core board. I’m new to this setup and hope someone can advise me. Yes, it's typical. Even if it looks like nothing is happening to you, the system is still running many processes in the background because of its Windows nature. Your CPU will pause, something will appear, it will ramp up to full speed to handle it quickly, and then resume sleeping. But when Cinebench doesn't behave normally, that's concerning.

At 61C while under full core load it performs well, just turn off the turbo for better efficiency and lower heat.
