My 5G home broadband (provider 3) was functioning well previously, offering fast speeds and minimal latency. About two weeks ago, I began experiencing significant ping increases during gaming—sometimes exceeding 2000ms. These spikes would resolve quickly. I installed PingPlotter and monitored the data over two and a half days. Initially, spikes occurred mainly in the early afternoon (Friday), then improved to the evening on Saturday. Currently, they happen every ten minutes, starting from the second or third hop. The first or second hop usually handled all packets, but by the third hop only about 0.4% made it through. It seems I didn’t filter specific IPs, possibly using more bandwidth than necessary. The pattern appears consistent—spikes roughly every ten minutes, beginning low (around 300ms) and then surging to over 2000ms before dropping again. Anyone know what might be causing this? Even if a fix isn’t possible, I’d like to understand why my internet is becoming so unreliable.

Reach out to your internet service provider with these details? I experienced frequent daily drops with 4G, submitted a support request, and after several weeks of updates, the issues were resolved. Your ISP possesses the necessary capabilities to investigate such problems and would have deeper insights.

I thought this would be the standard for mobile broadband, which is definitely on their 4G network.
