I have my computer on the second floor and can't connect via Ethernet directly from the router. I checked options and found power line adapters available for $20 to over $100. Will this adapter offer a better connection than a wireless USB adapter, and which one is best worth buying?

Sure thing. Just grab those 3M removable hangers and some zip ties, then install them on the wall near the ceiling. You've got about 100 feet of colored Ethernet cable ready to go. Everything's set without anyone noticing—just follow the hardwired guidelines.
