You noticed that even premium boards come with HDMI and DP ports. It’s curious why someone would use an APU with a $700 board—could there be a reason you’re not seeing it?

It seems the solution is available since support exists; adding it won’t be expensive. Including the display outputs won’t hurt your prospects, even if the savings are minimal.

The integrated graphics offer value for troubleshooting and testing. For instance, if you aim to test CPU overclocking without endangering your video card—especially under extreme conditions like liquid nitrogen or ice—you’d face risks. A VGA connector on a $700 board would be problematic, whereas HDMI or DisplayPort require minimal space and use the same pins in the CPU socket. Routing traces to the IO shield is straightforward, and licensing HDMI costs only about 20 cents per device, which is negligible.

Without all the ports, it wouldn't cost $700 for the motherboard.
