High Ping And Overall Bad Speeds For No Reason I Can Tell
Here’s a rewritten version of the text, aiming for clarity and conciseness:
I’m experiencing significantly degraded internet performance – consistently much slower than my paid 20 Mbps connection. When using wireless, speeds are reduced to approximately 1 Mbps, which is unacceptable. I've tested various scenarios, including connecting directly to my TP-Link router, but the speed hasn’t improved noticeably.
My primary concern is high ping rates when playing online games. Even simple pings to Google show spikes and inconsistent results (typically around 20ms with occasional peaks up to 110ms). I've ruled out local network issues by disconnecting other devices, yet the problem persists. The issue seems systemic, as ping spikes occur regardless of who I’m communicating with online.
I contacted my ISP for assistance, but they were unable to resolve the issue and provided no insight into potential causes. Despite claims of a “great connection,” I'm still experiencing frequent and substantial latency spikes – often exceeding 2000-3000ms, which is far beyond what’s expected for online gaming and general internet usage. I suspect there may be an ongoing problem with their infrastructure.
The 20mbps connection sounds like you are getting ADSL and not optical fiber. ADSL means signal loss over the distance and significantly worse stability, and ISPs, at least in Spain, tend to ignore this issues as far as you have access to the internet. Your best shot is probably changing your internet supplier.
