Hello, When searching for a game, I check reviews first to see how it performs on my GPU. Many mention CPU-heavy titles like Arma 2. Can you explain what makes a game CPU-intensive and why? Also, does the 4670 handle the latest demanding games well? My GPU is a Sapphire Nitro 390. Thanks in advance!

You're asking about your GPU and how it performs in comparison to newer systems. Arma 2 runs on older hardware, while Arma 3 benefits from more advanced graphics optimizations.

Arma's engine is designed to be significantly more CPU demanding, primarily using just two cores. It depends heavily on a limited number of high-performance cores. The visuals aren't the most appealing either, which makes it feel like Arma (versions 2 and 3) or DayZ—using the same engine—are mainly CPU-heavy. Other CPU-intensive titles include Skyrim and Minecraft. This trend suggests that most games lacking impressive graphics tend to be less reliant on the GPU, making them appear more CPU-focused.

The high CPU demand in Arma comes from poor coding practices and the extremely large game maps. RPG and open-world titles often struggle with CPU because of complex physics, AI behavior, and rendering requirements.

Some people find ARMA 3 unappealing due to its design choices.

You can achieve smooth performance at 60 frames per frame anywhere, and around 40-50 in urban areas during intense moments. A system with an i7 4790K and a 980 Ti can reach 60 fps consistently, while dropping to about 30 fps in firefights which is solid.

I think the quality isn't very appealing. It doesn't match the style of Witcher 3 textures.

CPU usage varies depending on the game. Titles such as Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, and Phantom Pain depend more on the processor than many others. A 4670 should handle them easily.

Have you ever tried it with maximum settings? It seems to offer superior visuals compared to GTA 5 and Witcher 3.
