Sufficient for gaming at 1440p in 2019? Yes, it works well with DDR4 3000MHz RAM and a 1080Ti OC Strix. I prefer Intel systems.

Using resolutions above 1080p causes the GPU to work harder than the CPU. A 7700K should handle it, but higher-end CPUs like 5GHz or 3.6GHz will perform better. Still, a 7700K should suffice given your GPU's strength.

You already possess it. It's a solid gaming CPU, but the resolution isn't a major factor. You probably won't need to make any changes.

Overall it remains strong, but think about upgrading only if your needs aren’t being met. While Ryzen’s choices are attractive, a functional processor is still essential.

Considering the current situation, it’s debatable whether upgrading is beneficial right now. For the GPU, it doesn’t seem worthwhile, so the focus shifts to the CPU. We’ll keep an eye on the 3080Ti and see what comes next.
