Hello there. I understand this might be similar to other discussions, but I haven’t found anything exactly like it. Everyone needs to boost performance, but I’m focused on reducing heat. I own a 5800x with MSI x570 MPG Gaming Plus and Radeon rx5700XT. The power supply is MSI MPG 850W. I’ve adjusted various PBO and CO settings, and the final profile I settled on is 110/70/110 with CO at -7. Cooler Dark Rock Pro 4. The latest BIOS version gave me 120/80/120 and CO at -10, which performed well during OCCT tests. Temperatures stayed around 85°C under full power stress, but after OCCT stopped, CPU usage dropped and a Blue Screen appeared. I’ve noticed some people using 200/140/200 with PBO settings of -20 to -30 for the best and worst results, while others reported stability. My C23 score is below 14k, though some posted scores over 16k. Idle clock/Vcore is 2600/0.94V, and in full stress it reached 3.6/1.38V. With normal use, I boosted the frequency to 4725MHz. Could this mean I’m missing something or am just not optimized? Thanks ahead.

Accessing stock power limits can make the system run slightly more efficiently, though it sacrifices some performance. A well-optimized setup could push the CPU to 5050 across multiple cores or threads, while other threads also benefit from improved timing.

Adjusted PBO values to 200/140/180, CO -20/-15; Boost Override remains Disabled. In CineBench it shows 90 degrees and 14k, but the CPU runs very hot—max clock 4850MHz, Vcore 1.475V.

Your cooling performance is solid. You achieved a high score with your 5800X3D, similar to a Dell system. At around 15,250 hours, it maintained temperatures below 65°C while running at R23.

I referred to Dark Rock Pro 4. It seems I might have mixed up the thermal paste. I'll verify it and let you know the outcome.

Setting voltage manually doesn't resolve it. Could it be related to inadequate cooling? On Dark Rock Pro 4 with default BIOS settings, the CPU reaches 90°C in a fracture of second, then cools to 50-60°C during idle, while temperatures stay around 45°C.

Consider upgrading to a better cooler, such as an AIO, but if your CPU is still under warranty, you might request a product exchange directly from AMD. If not, try applying fresh thermal paste and hope for the best. Review your BIOS settings and examine the fan curves. If your cooler’s curve decreases from left to right, reset it. To avoid thermal throttling, adjust the BIOS to set case and cooler fans at maximum speed from the beginning and maintain that setting. Good luck!

Again, this is a simple solution that helps keep my PC from overheating(I use the stock cooler because getting an AIO would put me over budget).
