High latency spikes in DPC performance linked to Nvidia GPU drivers. (nvlddmkm.sys)
Details: Ryzen 3600XT Gigabyte RTX 3070 with 32GB DDR4 RAM at 3600MHz (4 x 8GB). System runs Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite OS with Windows 11 Build 25236 (experienced with Windows 10, Beta, Dev, and Release versions; currently using Dev channel). Screenshots available at https://imgur.com/a/MEtpgw8. During these tests, the evaluation lasted about 22 minutes. Recently, I've faced severe DPC latency problems, leading to frequent FPS drops, stutters, audio issues, and complete interruptions. The issue appears linked to my NVIDIA GPU, particularly the nvlddmkm.sys driver. At times, this file registers over 3500us, and the DPC count for the driver jumps roughly 2000 per second. This causes my latency to spike every few minutes. All measurements were made using LatencyMon. I've tried everything possible—enabled MSI mode, activated high performance power plan, turned off C-State, HPET settings, disabled AMD Cool'n Quiet, turned off XMP for RAM, unplugged all USB devices, ran DDU on GPU drivers, swapped audio adapters (XLR, soundcard, GPU HDMI, front panel), tested single RAM sticks, used msinfo, disabled Ethernet adapter, updated chipset, GPU drivers, BIOS, and even tried generic Windows GPU drivers. Disabled hardware acceleration. After a fresh Windows install, I still faced the same problems. If you have any advice, even minor suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. I've been dealing with this for a long time.
It might relate to your bios or the motherboard, though software issues are less likely given how often you reinstall Windows. Was this your first time installing? "Cursed framerates" refers to the game running too slow, which can happen if settings are off. Are you using the newest Windows version? It could help to check which CPU version your OS supports, as newer versions might work better. Have you tried resetting the CMOS? I’ll share more tips later, but right now it’s probably worth confirming everything matches the default configuration. Windows generally handles settings well, so sticking to defaults is usually safest.
Thanks for your help, it means a lot!
Unstable performance issues - frequent stuttering and FPS drops at unpredictable moments. My game can freeze completely, then jump back up quickly, sometimes for around ten seconds. Audio disappears entirely before resuming. I've already checked BIOS updates, installed the correct Windows version, and changed nothing else. I've also reset the BIOS to optimized settings many times and flushed CMOS a few times alongside default settings. I'm running out of options

It’s going to be unusual and likely won’t succeed, but I experienced popping sounds and stuttering on my 3700x running the X470. In the BIOS I had to slightly raise the VDDG voltage. Only a small 0.5mV change fixed the issue. It may not apply to you, but it’s worth a shot for a quick restart.
I understand, just trying to throw things in the direction of hope for improvement. Regarding the stuttering, it's hard to say exactly what's causing it, but maybe the suggestions above could help. I actually changed my setup too. For other issues, I didn't notice any crackling—probably because I updated the chipset drivers. It seems that using outdated drivers or old BIOS can trigger this problem. Whenever I switch the motherboard or CPU, it happens again. But once I installed the correct chipset drivers, it stopped. It might be worth checking the drivers too, as a new chipset from either the CPU or motherboard manufacturer could resolve it. Sometimes they differ, so testing both is a good idea. By the way, I definitely recall this happening after switching from a 3600 to a 5800X3D with a new motherboard, and after installing the right drivers.
I’ve verified the updates to my chipset drivers and am 100% sure I received the correct ones for my B450 AM4 Platform. I also checked the Gigabyte website directly and still faced the same issues. Thank you for your assistance—I really value your help. If you have any further recommendations, feel free to share. Thanks again!
