I own an ASUS Scar 3 laptop equipped with an RTX 2070, an i7-9750H processor, 32GB RAM, and a 240Hz display. Despite this setup, I rarely reach those 240fps speeds—even in games like CS:GO. Usually, I play at 160-180fps for titles such as Valorant, Overwatch, CS, etc. Lowering graphics settings still keeps me around 200fps, and both my GPU and CPU usage drop significantly. Is there a method to maintain high GPU and CPU utilization even when running at low settings on a laptop? I suspect the 16GB dual-channel RAM might be the problem, but switching to dual-channel didn’t improve performance much (just a few fps gain). Some guides suggest higher graphics quality boosts usage, which seems counterintuitive since I want maximum FPS. More demanding singleplayer games like AC Valhalla or Cyberpunk 2077 push the GPU close to full capacity, matching the behavior of popular titles. If anyone has advice on optimizing this situation, especially for someone who travels often, I’d appreciate it.

You might be stuck in a CPU-heavy scenario, and changing settings won't improve your frame rate if you're already using the lowest options.

There’s no way to improve performance further.
