Hey everyone, last year I installed a top-of-the-line PC. It worked flawlessly then, but lately performance has dropped in games like Battlefield 1. Now it’s hovering around 20 frames per second at full settings in 4K, down from 60fps before. GTA V is also struggling, and even with Norton the cursor stutters near 14fps. I’ve seen warnings about low memory when playing Gears of War 4, which also caps around 39fps. I have G-sync turned on, Norton antivirus is slow, and my SSD has 96GB free but feels sluggish. My specs include a GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, an i7 processor, and a 400GB PCI SSD. Any tips to improve this?

It's possible the device is overheating and experiencing thermal throttling. Could you check your cooling system? Also, ensure the mounting is secure and all screws are properly fastened. A virus on the operating system might be a factor—consider reinstalling Windows if needed.

Your current readings apply with the liquid cooler installed. There are no other cooling methods in your PC, and you're not overclocking. Reinstalling Windows 10 would erase all installed programs, including GeForce Experience and Magix Music Maker.

I personally rely on Avast Antivirus, the free edition, which performs well. Regarding the image above my post during a game—should I share one with GTA Open, and include CPU temperatures as well? You mentioned you don’t have alternative cooling options; I’m hoping you have at least some case fans.

During the battlefield run, I'm fetching a new temporary temperature 'scanner,' and the setup uses a Corsair Airflow tower (all fans functioning correctly and securely mounted)

can you post another battlefield gpu-z one, but this time after running gpu-z for about 1 min or so, and dont have it at it's startscreen, but real ingame action happening when monitoring the temps and such

the only observation is that the memory is operating at full capacity in 4K resolution, leaving insufficient room for all the textures on the card. The memory clock speed appears to be modest by comparison.

Most players dislike Battlefield 1, it doesn't match the quality of Battlefield 4.

First, I rely on malware bytes and the free version performs adequately provided you possess basic common sense. Secondly, have you wiped your PC with compressed air or something similar after receiving it?
