I've been active on these forums for a while, but I usually didn't feel the need to create an account since most problems were already resolved. But recently things have gotten really annoying. My FPS in Warzone has become extremely low—often below 60. Last week I was hitting 100+ with medium-high settings at 1080p and 240Hz, but now it's mostly stuck around 50-60 frames for a few days. After restarting, it usually recovers, but now every game is under 60 FPS. I've tried all sorts of adjustments: lower resolutions, VSync enabled or disabled, capped vs uncapped FPS, different render settings, and even changed drivers. Nothing seems to help.

I've also checked the GPU connection, cooling, and temperatures—everything looks good. The latest drivers are installed, and I think the issue might be related to my second monitor (60Hz) and the HDMI source from my GPU, while my main monitor runs at 240Hz via DVI. My CPU temperature is normal, but my GPU usage has spiked to 80% or more now, which is putting a lot of strain on the system.

Additionally, my internet connection has been inconsistent lately—ping spikes and packet loss have appeared during gameplay, sometimes causing brief freezes lasting a few seconds. I'm using wireless Ethernet, which is disappointing since it's supposed to be stable. My PC specs are pretty standard: an i9 9900K with an RTX 2070, 32GB RAM, Windows 10, and a 4TB HDD with about 700GB free. The game runs on a 500GB NVMe SSD.

I'm open to any suggestions or advice you can offer. This is really frustrating, and I need it back up quickly for upcoming tournaments and scrims.

The second screen shouldn’t cause problems. I’d examine the CPU activity. Is it the total usage or just the game’s consumption? Since I don’t play Warzone, I’m unfamiliar with it, but if it got worse after a recent patch, check the community forums. If your CPU load is high overall, consider running a scan with Malwarebytes. If everything looks clean, look for background processes. You might also set your connection to metered so updates happen only when you activate them—remember to install updates while not playing, though they can be bothersome but necessary.

The game is now using significantly more CPU. I checked with AVG and everything looked fine. I turned off all startup settings and checked forums to confirm it wasn’t just me. Thanks for the response!
