Hello. The topic wasn't covered in today's video, even though the thumbnail suggests it. The question about RAM brands—like comparing PATRIOT, GOODRAM, Kingston Hyperfury, and Corsair Vengeance—is actually more confusing now than before. Previously, cheaper options seemed to sacrifice appearance, just like in thumbnails. Now, most non-branded models have a gaming aesthetic with black PCBs and decorative heatsinks, making it hard to tell what compromises are being made for the price difference.

It's common for some heatsinks to function more like heat traps. Many overclockers remove the spreaders and use bare pins regardless. As long as you have a high-quality set that meets your requirements, it works fine.

This has been a consistent pattern for me over the years since I focus on XOC, and knowing IC selection matters for optimal performance. It's also clear from i4memory.com that certain companies, like Corsair, frequently switch ICs within their product lines. Usually, the model version changes are due to different IC choices, even if the revision stays the same. I personally have made two identical sets of the exact sticks myself, crafted by Corsair, with distinct IC configurations between them—some using BH-5 and others BH-6. Still close enough. Useful to understand, I thought it was their setup method, and I was partially correct. By the way, I meant "probably" when I mentioned they didn't seem to like Ryzen, but if the PCB was truly custom-made, that makes sense.
