High CPU consumption in FIFA 15 on an i3 3220 processor
You should clean the dust from your PC and reapply the thermal paste. If the problem persists, think about using a larger cooler, though it probably isn't necessary since the stock one keeps temperatures low.
Stock cooler and processor support up to 65°C. For the more demanding i5 and i7 models, the safe limit drops to 75°C.
Launch XTU, it features a section at the bottom for managing thermal throttling.
Fixed it successfully after addressing a thermal throttling problem. Removed and cleaned the CPU heatsink and fan, applied fresh thermal paste. The rear case fan was drawing air in, so I flipped its direction. Previously, the CPU fan was connected to the sys fan header; I switched it to the CPU fan header. It’s unclear if this change made a difference. Current idle temperatures sit near 35°C, and peak temps are about 56°C. With CPU usage at 80% in past high-load scenarios (previously 100%), lag was reduced. Thanks to everyone for your support!
