I'm unsure if this section is correct; please forgive any mistake. I'm searching for a solid hard drive approximately 1.5TB to test Blu-ray drives and other devices. I came across a Western Digital Caviar Black 1.5TB drive on PC Part Picker, which looks promising. After checking eBay (Australia), I found a good deal there. I just want to confirm if it's safe to purchase. They provided an image from what appears to be Crystal Disk Mark.

This vehicle is 13 years old, I wouldn't recommend purchasing it.

You notice it in a specific location, but it operated for just four years before shutting down at 32,800 hours.

The manufacturing date shown on the photos from that eBay listing is from January 2011.

What kind of testing is being done? Pricing can vary widely depending on your location. I found two 2 TB hard drives for under $70 USD on PCpartpicker, which is new. If the information isn’t essential, it should be fine to purchase, though they were made in 2011 and may fail at any time.
